Arizona Filed a Consumer Fraud Lawsuit Against Choice Home Warranty

We need your help to investigate homeowners’ experiences with Choice Home Warranty.

Most states have enacted strong laws against elder abuse in the commerce of complicated financial products.

Arizona has filed a consumer fraud lawsuit and New Jersey has settled its case for almost $780,000 including customer restitution. We need your help as we investigate this company’s financial product. We want to hear from you so we can help people better understand these products.

Most states have enacted strong laws against elder abuse in the commerce of complicated financial products.

My goal is to help people have a better understanding of financial products so they can be on the lookout for scams.

A negative experience by a family member related to their product from Choice Home Warranty has shown me the need to write a report on such products and Choice Home Warranty. In a future post I will tell their story as accurately as possible. Right now it is extremely negative. I received a phone call from a woman claiming to report directly to the company’s president. She immediately started trying to control the conversation in a very aggressive way often interrupting me and trying to talk over me. As I ask her hard questions she got frustrated and hung up on me. She called back about five minuted later to try to smooth things over only to start her same aggressive tactics again, get frustrated and hang up on me again. Yes, hung up on me twice in ten minutes. But, companies always have an opportunity to make things right.

I did not search long before I found Facebook Groups of dissatisfied Choice Home Warranty customers. Here is screen shot from a Facebook Group titled Choice Home Warranty scams. I am not affiliated with the groups and cannot yet determine if their product is a scam. I report and let you decide.

Here is a link to Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich‘s consumer fraud lawsuit cited on the above Facebook Group page. I will attempt to contact the other contributor to discover how her conversation with the attorney went. The State of New Jersey reports that it has settled its case against Choice for $779,913.93 including customer restitution. The Better Business Bureau did not list the company as an accredited business with their organization on the web page I viewed. But, maybe it is, I don’t know yet.
